Prof Maya Chakravarti Vishwanathan, Director of Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication, SIMC Bengaluru, is a Corporate Communication and Public Relations professional with 34 years of rich and extensive experience in corporate communication, image and brand building, training and relationship management, government relations and event management in both India and abroad, including the Indian Institute of Science, Indian Telephone Industries, Subhash Projects, Hyder Consulting, UK, Indian Business Academy, Image PR, Conergy-German RE Company, CREMA, Suryadatta Group, besides running her own Consultancy IKON PR. Some of her prestigious clients include IFC-World Bank, Biwater of UK, Techno Park, Trivandrum, Industry & IT Departments of Kerala Government, Greg Chappel led Griffith Institute of Sports, Sydney, Institution of Engineers, Electro Steel Castings Ltd. and Citigate Dewe Rogerson, UK. She has been the preferred PR Consultant for several Foreign Trade Missions, diversified industry segments with responsibilities spread across a gamut of functions. She has over 25 years of part-time teaching experience. She is a recipient of Gold medal at state level in Hindustani classical music– Sitar. Having already earned a Masters in English Literature with Diplomas in PR as well as Journalism, Prof. Maya is currently pursuing doctoral studies in Public Relations from Symbiosis International University.
