Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS), set up in 1993, is a constituent of the prestigious Symbiosis International University and was accredited, Grade A, by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (of the UGC) in November 2008. It is an ISO 9001:2008 quality certified management institute and a top-tier provider of business education across the spectrum. 

SIMS provides management education primarily to armed forces personnel and their dependents in addition to industry sponsored/recommended candidates and defence officers on study leave.

SIMS was ranked 14th among top management institutes in India by "The Week" in its issue of Nov. 2011.

SIMS is an accredited “Centre for Corporate Governance" of the “National Foundation of Corporate Governance” (established by Ministry of Corporate Affairs and CII) and the only one in Pune. It receives research grants for research projects.

SIMS offers specialisation in fields such as marketing, human resources, finance, operations to name a few. The syllabus of various courses are designed and updated regularly keeping the industry requirement in place so that the students of SIMS are always ahead and have the necessary knowledge required by the industry. SIMS is unique amongst all B-Schools in India offering dual specialisation in major-minor mode.

SIMS is having a right blend of faculty from different specialisation with sound research and academic background to chisel the student for a right career. The faculty are full-time, adjunct and visiting who have vast industry experience which helps the student to gain the knowledge necessary to get into the corporate world. Besides this, SIMS invites eminent corporate personalities who come to deliver lectures on the contemporary issues. The focus is on overall development of the students and to achieve this, corporate trainers/ alumni frequently visit campus to talk and train our student managers.  

SIMS also provides a platform to student to learn and develop the managerial skills while on the campus by giving them a free hand to conceive, plan and implement various state and national level events such as Barcode, Orion amongst others.

SIMS has collaboration with Leeds Metropolitan University, UK and Berlin School of Economics, Germany. SIMS has conducted programmes for John Deere, Cognizant, Bajaj Allianz, Standard Chartered Bank and Indian Navy.

SIMS inculcates the skill and knowledge, in the students, necessary for the manager in real life world, using the correct combination to traditional methods and technology such as Classroom learning, online learning, live projects, case study, MOODLE etc. The student managers who graduate from SIMS are leaders in an exceptionally broad gamut of organizations from entrepreneurial companies to established firms, to government and non-profit organizations. SIMS alumni are now entrepreneurs, VPs, MDs in various top companies carving mark for the SIMS in the corporate world.
