Symbiosis School of Economics , PuneThe Symbiosis School of Economics (SSE) was established in the year 2008. Presently at its fledgling stage, SSE aspires to create its mark as a leading institution in Economics and related interdisciplinary research. SSE was set in motion with the introduction of the undergraduate programme– B.Sc (Economics) in 2008. While our first batch graduated in June 2011, we have since, introduced M.Sc (Economics), offering specializations in International Trade and Development Studies as well as three Certificate courses in the fields of Quantitative Economics, Capital Markets and Corporate Social Responsibility. Our latest curricular introduction is the integrated M.Sc–Ph.D programme for those with research inclinations and would want to further advance their careers in Economics.

Director, SSE
Dr. Roudra Chakraborty is a Ph.D. in Mathematics. He has completed his Ph.D. from Jadavpur University, Kolkata after qualifying the NET, conducted jointly by UGC and CSIR. Prior to that, he completed his Masters in Mathematics from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. His research papers on pitch tracking of acoustic signals have been published in renowned international journals like Signal, Image and Video Processing from Springer and various national and international conference proceedings under the University of Delhi, Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi, University of Cambridge etc. He is also a member of Mensa International, London, an international high-IQ society. Before joining Symbiosis he was an insurance analytics consultant for a number of Medicare service providers in New York, USA.
He joined SSE in 2010 as a faculty for strengthening Mathematics and Statistics and important components for BSc. and MSc. Economics. His style of teaching and pedagogy is unique and appreciated by the students. In April 2011, he was appointed as the Deputy Director and since June 2012, holds additional responsibilities of the office of the Director.
